Today the weather was beautiful as I chaperoned the first grade field trip to the zoo and as you can see by sleepyhead here, the animals loved the warm sunshine on this Spring day. It was just so much fun seeing the kids get so excited about absolutely everything, especially when the tigers all made a mad dash to try and catch the goose who dared to fly into the pit and luckily got away! Tropical Discovery, with it’s many dimly lit tanks of marine life is always fascinating. Love these seahorses who all crowd together on the blades of undersea plants.
So much to see as we start Spring,
The world around us awakening.
Look high, low, and all around;
Green shoots grow up through the ground.
Listen to all that can be heard,
The twittering sounds of returning birds.
Morning dew sparkles like a jewel,
The Lord has blessed us with renewal.
Okay I think I was awake for approximately an hour before I finally realized the outside world was encased in snow again! I actually like snow – I really do – yet this season of snow has made me grumpy because now that I am divorced, I am parking outdoors and have to allow time in my already busy morning to clean off the car and then white-knuckle it on the roads for an hour or so to get anywhere. And why am I surprised to see snow this time of year? I have pictures of a blizzard that buried our home May 10, 2003 and another of lucky cricket wearing a sundress and playing in deep hail July 25, 2008 so I better smarten up already! Anyhoo…Spring officially begins Sunday – yeah! And I like to see sturdy shoots sprouting up beneath the snow – what troopers!
Denim and Cape Madras today….yeah for spring temps!
